Naresh Trehan family members are his wife Madhu Trehan and Naresh Trehan daughters. Dr Trehan first met his wife when he was 16 years old. In 1969, they were married and have two daughters.
Madhu Trehan, who was Madhu Purie before her marriage to famous surgeon Naresh Trehan, is a journalist and writer. She has authored the book, Tehelka’s Operation West End. The 600-page book took six years of meticulous research and is a collection of 40 detailed personal interviews, which bring out the complete story behind the scandal. The book was published in 2008 by Roli Books.
Madhu Trehan finished her schooling from Welham Girls School in Dehradun, after which she took up a course in journalistic photography at Harrow Technical College & School of Arts in 1968. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Journalism from Columbia University in 1972. She worked at the United Nation’s Press Section in New York till she returned to India in 1975. After she was married to Dr Trehan, she moved back to New York to start a family.
Madhu Trehan is said to have led the way for investigative journalism in India. Along with her father V V Purie and brother Aroon Purie, she started India Today, one of the country’s leading news magazines. When Naresh Trehan family relocated to India in 1986, his wife Madhu produced and anchored the television news program Newstrack for TV Today. The show became an instant hit and was known for its journalistic revelations.
